“I know I should be taking care of myself but…”
I know you: you run full speed toward a crisis and step up to any challenge in service to people or animals without giving it a second thought! You also know you need a good self-care plan but are finding it very hard to put your needs first. You feel terrible when you have to say no and yet if you don’t have a daily practice, it can lead to a place where you’re unable to continue serving those you care about the most. Hello Catch-22!
Have you been labeled “too sensitive” or told “you care too much”? You are likely highly intuitive, even empathic, and letting go of other’s needs to serve your own may be even more difficult due to the immediate guilt you feel when you try to place limits on your availability to others. You often literally feel the pain of other beings, knowing you can help and having to set limits feels literally impossible.
Tell me, does this sound familiar… one more call from the job for some overtime, one more favor from family or a friend, one more cat to rescue or dog to take to the vet, it’s always something isn’t it?
Anyone in service to others and that means even our own families, deal with a lot of stressful situations and emotions on a day-to-day basis. Especially in today’s hectic corporate or agency environments, it’s tough to find the time or the strength to step away from your work for even just 5 minutes and maybe take a walk outside or sit in silence. Hell, even hair stylists who listen to other people’s problems all day can become overwhelmed and exhausted.
That’s where I can help you. Together we can tune in to figure out which feelings belong to you and which belong to the people around you. Coaching can help you learn what your boundaries are and how sometimes the right answer for you is a Sacred “No”.
“Michelle really helps you dig deep into your issues and bring to light what is blocking you so that you can find your purpose and passion in life.” ~ Linda, Puerto Rico
I have a Master’s Degree in Education and over 20 years of experience working with people and the change process. My past career includes being a therapist who specialized in trauma. I’ve worked in emergency services, been a social worker and been an animal rescuer. Today, I still rescue animals, facilitate group coaching with Desire Map processes, host a daily Periscope broadcast, I am a custom portrait artist, a writer, photographer and more. I’m busy! I know how hard it is to figure out why you do what you do and here’s what else I know – we can do it, you can get where you want to go!
I know what it takes to stay steady on the path and to make the changes needed to be successful because I’ve been through a lot of what you’re feeling. I’ve seen what burnout can do, not once but twice in my career, and my intention is to do all that I can during our time together to help you thrive in your business or personal life or both!
During our session, I will use materials from the Desire Map by Danielle LaPorte, tools from Martha Beck and Byron Katie plus my own techniques of reading your energy to help you grow and change. With me, you will learn meditation skills, how to come back to center, how to find precious time to practice daily self-care habits, how to stay present in your moment-to-moment existence and how to laugh more.
If you are nodding your head and feeling called to make a change, then say yes to putting yourself on the calendar for once and allowing time for you!
Michelle is caring and compassionate. She has a lot of life experience that she uses during a session and she knew just how to navigate our conversation so that I didn’t feel like I wasn’t being heard. Each question she asked me dove deeper to the heart of the issue, which is the point of having a coach. From our sessions, she has taught me techniques that I use everyday to get me out of a funk or just to shift my mind to a better place. Her energy is powerful and can be felt even after we hung up! If you’re looking for someone that is just going to agree with you with no real results, Michelle is not for you. But if you’re looking to make a life change, I highly recommend scheduling a session now.
